The Opening Ceremony, Welcome Cocktail and Gala Dinner of the ESBC European Senior Bowling Championships Rome 2026 will take place at the Auditorium Seraphicum.

Located in the heart of Rome’s EUR district, the Auditorium Seraphicum is an elegant, functional and welcoming venue, perfect for hosting prestigious international events. With a capacity of approximately 550 seats in the main auditorium and several adjacent modular spaces, it offers the ideal solution to welcome athletes, team officials and authorities.

• Saturday 20 June 2026 - Opening Ceremony with Flag Parade at 16:30 followed by Welcome Cocktail
• Saturday 27 June 2026 - Gala Dinner at 19:30

ESBC 2026 Kicks Off: Rome Hosts the European Seniors Bowling Championships Official presentation on June 19, 2026, at the Campidoglio

The event will bring over 700 athletes aged 50 and older to the area, along with hundreds of accompanying persons from across Europe and Israel, confirming its status not only as a significant sporting occasion but also as an important opportunity for tourism and cultural promotion.

The competitions will take place at the Brunswick Acquacetosa, Tiam (on Viale Regina Margherita), and Mondial Bowling Ciampino centers, facilities that will become the hub of European bowling for the occasion.

The event will be officially presented during a press conference scheduled for Friday, June 19, at 11:00 a.m. in the prestigious Sala del Carroccio at the Campidoglio, the seat of the Municipality of Rome.

Representatives from institutions and the sports world will attend the press briefing, including:

• Alessandro Onorato, Councilor for Major Events, Tourism, and Sport (Lazio)

Dear Participants,

following recent decisions and announcements by IBF and EBF, the ESBC Presidium has dealt with the usage of Urethane Bowling Balls in the European Seniors Bowling Championships. Since IBF and EBF Rules have been and will be the basis for the conduction of any ESBC competition, it was unanimously acknowledged by the ESBC Presidium that the current Urethane Bowling Ball Regulation by EBF will be in effect for the ESBC 2026 in Rome. This means that only urethane bowling balls manufactured with a minimum hardness of 78D and approved by USBC are permitted.

Apart of this clarification for the upcoming ESBC 2026 in Rome, the ESBC Presidium is also going to prepare an adoption to the ESBC Rules for any future events. This proposal shall be dealt with at the next ESBC meeting.
